I’ve always been fascinated by publication design, and all the heavy lifting a book cover needs to do. The cover design and illustration combined need to give you an immediate sense of genre, style, and tone; it needs to differentiate this one story from all others around it; and it should make you want to open the book and find out what it’s all about right now. And in today’s world of online sales, it needs to do all this and more with a 150 pixel high thumbnail.
